We ask that you arrive as promptly as possible on the first day of your holiday as the Handover is undertaken by Voluntary Helpers who have already given up their morning to prepare the boat for you. There is parking available, free of charge, at Great Bedwyn Wharf.
You will be greeted by the Team Leader who will then take the Group Leader and any other appropriate members of the group through the key points of the boat with particular regard to Health and Safety. The Team Leader will then help you to bring the rest of your group and your luggage onboard.
If it is your first time with us, the Team Leader will then accompany you through the first couple of locks, more if you would like, to ensure you are confident in managing the boat. If you have been with us for a previous holiday, the Team Leader will not generally join you as you set off on your cruise, unless you ask them to, in which case they will be happy to guide you until you have built up your confidence again.
Each boat has a fully equipped kitchen with cups, glasses, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
Life-jackets are available and you will be asked for the amount required and the sizes, upon your arrival.
Bedding & linen is not provided.
Your Hire Reservation Form will ask you to tick any of the following additional equipment that you would like us to provide for your holiday.
- Transfer hoist
- Shower chair
- Cot sides
- Perching stool
